Please read these Terms of Service and Liability Waiver ("Terms") carefully. By checking the "I agree" box and using The Local (the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms.
The Platform facilitates real-world, in-person meetups, including but not limited to networking events, coffee chats, and dates (the "Activities"). You acknowledge and agree that participation in these Activities involves interacting with strangers in public settings. You voluntarily assume all risks associated with your participation in any Activities organized through the Platform, including but not limited to personal injury, property damage, or emotional distress.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you hereby release, waive, and discharge The Local, its founders, officers, employees, and agents from any and all liability, claims, demands, or causes of action arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury, including death, that may be sustained by you or to any property belonging to you, whether caused by negligence or otherwise, while participating in the Activities or while interacting with individuals you met through the Platform.
You agree to conduct yourself in a respectful, safe, and appropriate manner during all Activities. The Platform utilizes a peer-to-peer reporting system and a Trust Score. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our sole discretion if you are reported for harassment, inappropriate behavior, making others feel unsafe, or failing to attend an Activity for which you confirmed your attendance (a "No-Show").
The Platform does not conduct criminal background checks or identity verification on its users. You are solely responsible for taking appropriate safety precautions when interacting with other users and attending meetups. Always meet in public places and use your best judgment.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Local from any loss, liability, damage, or costs, including court costs and attorneys' fees, that may be incurred due to your participation in the Activities, whether caused by negligence of the releasees or otherwise.
